Guidance : Abundance

Share it Please

Thinking about abundance during study or meditation is a valuable practice, and the practice becomes truly powerful when you think about abundant ideas during the ordinary activities of your day. What are you thinking about when you are brushing your teeth? What are you thinking about when you are washing the dishes? What do you think about when you are driving? What do you think about when you are eating? Each of these activities is an opportunity to redirect your thought to something that will nurture your appreciation of the abundance around you.

For example, take one single idea such as “The Universe is infinite,” and use it as a guide through one complete day of activities. You could use a question such as “How is what I am doing right now an example of the idea that the Universe is infinite? "and think about possible answers. The trick is to remember to do so regularly.

I have experimented with a timer set at random times to remind me of the idea I am working with for the day. When the timer goes off, I pause in my activities to consider what I am thinking. Whatever I am doing, I try to come back for a moment to the question: "How is what I am doing right now an example of the idea that the Universe is infinite?”
